The Prediabetes Lifestyle Project brings together local GPs and nurses to support people at risk of type 2 diabetes. Our aim is to empower you with practical tools to improve your metabolic health through real food, movement, sleep, and stress management.
Dr. Angharad Powell

Dr. Angharad Powell is an experienced General Practitioner with over 15 years in practice. She is distinguished by her broad expertise and postgraduate qualifications in areas such as occupational health, women’s health, mental health, and, most recently, nutritional medicine. In addition to completing the AFMCP (Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice) training, which equips her to integrate a holistic, lifestyle-focused approach to patient care, she is currently advancing her expertise through training with the Nutrition Network.
A passionate advocate for lifestyle medicine, Dr. Powell has spent over a decade utilising dietary strategies, circadian biology principles, and health coaching to achieve transformative outcomes for her patients. Her work has led to significant successes, including diabetes remission, substantial weight loss, improved blood pressure control, and the reversal of fatty liver disease in numerous cases.
Gail Ellson RN
BA(Hons) | PG Dip SPQ - GPN | CertLM Lifestyle Medicine
Gail Ellson RN is a Specialist Practitioner in General Practice Nursing with over fifteen years experience in Primary Care.
Gail is a member of the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine, and holds a Certificate in Prescribing Lifestyle Medicine. Gail applies the principles of Lifestyle Medicine to her practice whenever possible, weaving it in in to consultations on Chronic Disease and Women's Health where appropriate.
She is passionate about supporting patients who want to make positive changes and helping them enjoy the best possible health.
Dr. Emma Fisher
MBChb, DipDerm, DRCOG, MRCGP
Dr Emma Fisher is an experienced GP who is enthusiastic about patient care and the patient health journey.
She has experience working in different GP roles up and down the UK working with different patient population and amongst varied healthcare teams.
Throughout her work she has learnt the value of patient education and engagement in influencing their own health.
Dr Fisher is currently working towards the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine core accreditation. This ensures that all lifestyle medicine advice that she gives is current and evidence based.
Dr. Fisher is also completing a Transformation Coaching Diploma to help support patients through making lifestyle changes.
